Ballroom Crazy Mission Statement

We Are Committed To The Students 100%.

This principle, when considered on all levels, has some far-reaching implications which effect every part of this website and everything that we do at Ballroom Crazy.

Here's what we're all about...

1) Setting up the right environment for our students to learn in.

Ballroom Crazy is designed in a way to make the learning process logical and natural. By providing historical information on each dance, we encourage the student to get in touch with whatever he/she is learning before entering the actual classroom. Students are therefore more mentally prepared to practice and learn from the videos; the background info stirs up the dance juices and imbues a sense of excitement and curiosity in the dancer. He/she is more ready than ever to jump on in and start learning.

Not only is the history of dance outlined, but so are many other aspects of each individual dance. For instance, we encourage our students to learn about all the different variations in style for each ballroom and latin dance. We also provide the pertinent rules and guidelines regarding dance etiquette for when dancers bring their skills outside the home and into any club, dance event, social gathering, or formal occasion. The home environment is a key to learning...It allows each dancer to work in a comfortable and convenient setting where they have access to a well-spring of dance knowledge and lessons that can gradually be mastered over time and then put to use out on the dancefloor. When you're logged into BallroomCrazy.com and surfing around, you'll find hundreds of articles, news reports, dance journals, first-hand accounts, and so many more dance related resources. This is why Ballroom Crazy is an excellent environment to learn in. Everything is connected and related; members are exposed to so much that they're bound to really learn a lot and feel right at home in such a conducive learning atmosphere.

2) Making the lessons clear, understandable, and easy to grasp.

Our goal in filming and directing all of the dance videos is to make them suitable for everyone, absolutely every single person. You're probably thinking this sounds impossible because everyone has their own individual way of learning. BUT, this is actually still our aim and we do try our best to come as close to this principle as possible. We make ALL of our videos and choose ALL of our dance instructors with several things in mind: We pay close attention to how understandable and simplistic the lessons are, how practical and manageable the breakdowns are for students, how detailed and correct all the information is...We want the teachers to make it easy and logical, so that even a sixth grader could understand. We pay attention to quality, appearance, and general level of lucudity when filming. If one teacher isn't doing a great job, we hire another. We do hundreds of takes and we make sure that the students are getting the best one possible. To provide the most understandable and followable lessons is our purpose. We love salsa and want everyone else to love it too. In order to love it, you've gotta learn it first, and this is what we strive to do. We want our students to actually grasp what their seeing so that they can recreate it on their own and show it to their ffriends and family.

Ballroom Crazy is all about understanding and learning. That means we try to find the most effective and practical way to pass information on to our students so that they can actually put what they see and read on the site into action. We're definately crazy about dance, but we don't want to drive our members crazy by confusing them or leading them into a maze of information. Ballroom Crazy, as you can see, is organized neatly and orderly. The History Of Dance department contains all the background you'll need in order to understand the ideas and stories behind each dance. The Different Dance Styles department explains the major differences within each individual form of dance. The Ballroom Dance Tips department provides some key invaluable dance secretes and tips for the aspiring dancer. The Clothes and Shoes section lets memberd know what to where, when to wear it, and why. The Dance Floor Etiquette page outlines all the basic dance floor courtesies to be used as a sign of respect and acceptance towards other dancers. And then there's the Beginners Corner and Intermediate Alley that organize all the videos by experience level. The Ballroom Dance Classes Category has all the videos you'll need in order to actually learn the dances. The Resources Category has everything you want to know about dance related organizations, studios, clubs, events, and websites that are outside of Ballroom Crazy. And The general Departments has all of our articles, news, headlines, testimonials, blogs, and most populars. It's all laid out clearly and rationally. Trust us, you'll know where you want to go!

3) Constantly challenging and encouraging our students to grow.

Because dance is progressive and constantly changing, evolving, and adapting on a daily basis...So are we! We've got the insider's scoop on every dance and we're always modifying our site to be
up-to-date and in touch with the latest dance trends, traditions, and happenings. Not only are we keen to whats taking place in the dance community throughout the entire world, but we're also aware that change takes place on a much more individual level- within the student. All dancers should experience forward growth so in order to allow every student the opportunity to develop his/her skills, Ballroom Crazy is constantly adding new videos, articles, and updated information on a regular basis. It's a site that'll never grow old nor will it ever remain static; Ballroom Crazy keeps its members on their feet and constantly pushes them to improve. With each and every log-on, memebers learn something new. Every day, every week, month, and year, our dancers are being directed ahead into new levels of experience.

And thats also why we offer dance instructions for every skill level. Whether your a beginner, intermediate, or advanced dancer, you'll have a place to cultivate your skills and move onward at Ballroom Crazy. Once you've gotten good enough to graduate from the beginner courses, you'll move right on to the intermediate classes, never missing a beat. There's nothing on this site to stunt your growth, in fact, it's quite the contrary. We have so many up-to-date resources and knoweldge-bases that as a dancer, you will also always be progressing and staying on top of your game.

4) Dedication to quality, improvement, and change.

Since the trends and patterns of dance are constantly evoloving over time and changing in new directions, it is our goal to stay on top of the evolution of dance. And since there are many other dance related websites and instructional videos out there, it is our goal to remain at the pinnacle of the dance resource world. With these two things in mind, we are always trying improve on what we're doing and also on what others are doing. Those of us at Ballroom Crazy are constantly thinking and brainstorming about where to go next, what the newest and hottest aspect of dance is, and how to incorporate it into the site. And because we're dedicated to the quality and overall character of our site, we make a point to keep with tradition and retain the beautiful and rich history of Latin and Ballroom dance as well. Our appreciation for dance causes us to not only want to expose and revive the deep and significant past, but also to cultivate and keep the dances alive and fresh in the present moment. This is why Ballroom Crazy offers so much. Combining today's interpretation of dance with the history, experience, and understanding of dance as it happened years and years ago is a pivotol element in Ballroom Crazy that is given much consideration.

5) Allowing students to learn at their own pace.

As a direct result of Ballroom Crazy being an online resource, our members are forced to learn at a speed and rhythm that's comfortable for them. We believe that self-education and creating one's own schedule of practice and study is an incredible method for development that allows dancers to inspire their own styles and conceptions of dance that are unique and original because they come from personal experience and determination. Ballroom Crazy allows for the instructional videos to be reviewed as many times as necessary. Pausing, rewinding, and replaying makes it possible for the complete absorption of content and information. Members can practice one lesson for as long as they need to in order to really get a good grasp on the material. It's not like a real class where the teacher simply skips to the next step when you haven't even mastered the previous one. Ballroom Crazy makes learning managable because it's customized to each and every dancer. It fits everyone's schedule and can viewed around the world. There's a place for Ballroom Crazy in every home.

Our goal is to let every dancer practice and learn in a way that makes personal sense. When members are at home or near their computer, they can learn, read, and communicate with others about dance whenever they want. There's never any reason to feel anxious waiting for the next lesson...lessons can be viewed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That's why students learn at their own pace, and that's why they really do learn to dance well. Being constantly exposed to Ballroom Crazy and all it's different facets and niches can really create a firm understanding and high level of skill within each and every dancer. This is exactly what Ballroom Crazy is about. We want the student to succeed and have fun in the process.

"Everything is very good...I love the breakdown section. However, I wish my live instructor in Charlotte had the same approach... Thank you for providing me with a wonderful product."

"I can't begin to say enough about the resources at Ballroomcrazy.com! The lessons were fun, thorough and informative. With a little practice, my husband and I wowed all the guests at our 30th anniversary party. Not bad for two people who didn't know a Waldorf from a Foxtrot!"

"I am amazed by what you have put together.. I am learning so much and am so inspired. Thank you so much for your generosity because really what you are doing is sharing your knowledge and love of dance... I am hooked. You break everything down and repeat, repeat, repeat , repeat.
