Mother Son Wedding Dance Songs

One of the most important parts of the wedding is the dancing that occurs at the reception, and many people have a vested interest in what wedding songs get played there. The selection of the wedding songs are usually selected by the bride and groom themselves, and though they will often defer to a deejay hired for the occasion, they will usually take some time and make sure some of their favorite songs get played. When you are thinking about the selection of wedding songs for your own wedding, there are several options open to you.

When it comes to weddings, songs have always been an important part of the tradition. In many cultures, blessings were sung to the bride and groom as they got married, and oftentimes, music accompanied the bride and groom as they went to their new house together. Wedding songs have a deep cultural history and singing was often a way to make sure that the bride and groom got off to a good start together. Today, wedding songs can set the mood for the reception. After the solemnity of the wedding itself, wedding songs are a great way to get the mood back to being festive and cheery.

While there are many specific songs that you might be interested in selecting, think about what sort of tone you want to set for your wedding reception and what your guests will be like. It can be a bit difficult to get the right songs for your parents and relatives while still keeping your friends entertained, but remember that in the long run, there's nothing wrong with having wedding songs that are considered eclectic.

One thing that people often do to make their weddings a little bit more fun-filled is playing "Macarena" or "The Chicken Dance." This is a a great way to loosen up and have a good time, and it's always fun to see more serious members of the wedding party cutting loose. Wedding songs are expected to be fairly romantic, so keep in mind the fact that you'll be able to get to be as sappy and sweet as you like. You can please any little girls at the wedding (and satisfy your own inner princess!) by playing some romantic Disney songs. In this vein, consider "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid and "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty.

Remember that your wedding is your wedding and if you want to hear it, if you want to dance it, you should be allowed to, no matter what anyone else says!
