Wedding Dance - Learn To Dance At Your Wedding

When you are deciding on a wedding song, don't forget about the dance between the groom and his mother. The mother-son dance has become a recent staple in modern weddings, but when you are thinking about a wedding song, this is not a relationship that you might have a great song for right away. Oftentimes, the song will be a surprise to the mother, something he selects to surprise her. If this is the position that you are in, thinking about a good wedding song can be frustrating, but there are actually quite a few options open to you.

First, get personal. Any song can be a wedding song if the emotion is in the right place. What songs did your mother like to sing when you were young? Who was her favorite recording artist? Answering questions like this can help you find the right answer. Was there a song you shared, or one that you sang together? Don't worry if the rest of the wedding party doesn't get it, remember that the only people who need to get it are you and your mother!

For some more mainstream suggestions and ideas, think about Elvis Presley's "Memories" or the more obscure "My Son" by Brendan Shine. Is there a theme for your wedding? Has it been mostly lighthearted or has it been more somber? Look for something that suits the prevailing mood. Ask yourself what your mother has meant for you. If your mom's been a real guidepost for your life, think about Mariah Carey's "Hero" or Phil Collin's "You'll Be in My Heart." Was there a Disney movie that you and your mother watched together? A Disney song might an excellent way to break the ice and remind your mother of the fun you have had.

A good wedding song will bring back fond memories of times past and hint at good times in the future, but more than that, a good wedding song is exactly what you want it to be. Look up the hits from when your mom got married. Some sons even find the wedding song that their mothers danced to, adding a excellent vintage flavor to the wedding. Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" and Bette Midler's "I Will Remember You" might suit this quite admirably.

At the end of the day, the wedding song that you share with your mother should be one that has personal significance. Think about everything she's done for you, and chances are, the right song will come floating to your mind!
