Tango Shoes

So you have decided to learn how to tango and need a pair of tango shoes. There are a few things to remember when shopping for the right pair of tango shoes. For the beginner you should choose a shoe than has no more than a 3-inch heel. They should be made of a good material for the purpose of supporting your feet. One of the recommended materials is cow leather.

Instead of sandals, choose a pair of open toe or closed toe tango shoes. They will support your feet better and reduce the stress put on them by a new routine. Not to say your feet will not feel the difference in taking up this new activity but they will not be as sore as if you try to wear an uncomfortable shoe.

Tango shoes should be purchased with a strap that is comfortable on your feet. They must fit well. A t-strap or a cross strap is the best for this purpose. There are sneakers made for beginners. This may be the best choice for starting out. The big difference between sneakers made for tango lessons and regular sneakers is the chrome sole.

There are two types of chrome soles available. One is leather with strips added to keep you from slipping and falling when you are dancing. It is quite flexible and makes it easy to do the dance steps you will be learning. This type is not recommended for wearing anywhere else such as outside because this could damage the sole.

Another type is leather and has no chrome added. They are not as supportive as the other type and are not as flexible either. However, you can wear these outdoors without the fear of ruining them. Both pair has a good arch support. The choice is entirely yours as to the type you prefer.

Both types are fairly easy to take care of by brushing them with a wire brush occasionally. You should brush the nap of the sole first but if this does not return it to the previous condition try brushing against the nap. Brushing in circles sometimes help to restore the shoe to its new state if you apply pressure when brushing.

Mens tango shoes are available as well as womens. Most shoes are made in Argentina. This country has a great many tango dancers so they have a good working knowledge of what is needed in a tango shoe.

There are several places to buy tango shoes. You can shop online for a wide variety and some even offer free shipping. There are several ways to measure your feet to make sure of a perfect fit. Some companies will send you a free foot-measuring device to use. Then you enter your information in to their site online. When you decide to order a pair of shoes, the information is there and they will make sure to get you the proper size.

If you should have to return the shoes due to them not fitting or you just do not like them, make sure they stay in the same condition as when you purchased them. Shoes that show obviously that they have been worn are not eligible for refunds. It is best to wear them on carpet to start out and make sure they are going to fit. If they are returned in the same condition as you received them with the tags still attached, there is a 100% return policy except for the shipping charges.

Another way is to find a shoe store near you that sells this type of shoe. Tango shoes are a little more difficult to find in your local shoe store but there are some available. Check your yellow pages for available stores in your area. You may have to travel if you decide against purchasing your tango shoes online. However if you are the type that would rather try your shoes on before purchasing them, this might be your best bet.

Some valuable resources for finding tango shoe are some of your dancing friends. Find out where they bought their shoes and if they are happy with them. This may give you some ideas on where you can purchase shoes without having to go online to do so.
